Allah Almighty says, The Glorious Qur’ān was revealed in the month of Ramadhan as a guidance for mankind. The word of Allah illuminated the straight path for us all, and distinguishes between right and wrong. So those of us who witness the blessed month must observe the higher act of fasting. Allah intends to provide ease for us and does not intend to create hardship for us. All this is so that we can complete the prescribed number of fasts, and proclaim the Takbīrāt of Allah for having guided us. This is so we can show our gratitude to Allah Most High (2:185).
